We’re celebrating another milestone today. Yesterday’s daily dispatch, “Begin with the Backstory”, marked 1,111 days of old house journaling in a row. No misses or skips. No mulligans. No exceptions, and no excuses.

So today’s a day for rest and reflection. Time on Lake Champlain offers both.
We wound down the afternoon with a family row and wakesurfing session. Susan and Carley rowed the Adirondack guide boat, and I rowed the Vermont dory.

After rowing it was time for our legs to catch up with our arms and shoulders, so we headed out for freshwater surfing.

Perfect temperature (in the air and in the water). Not 100% glass-flat, but good enough for rejuvenation and joy. It’s worth noting that Carley snoozed through most of our rowing AND surfing sessions. Aaahhh… the life of a dog.

A skinny post to memorialize a day of pause, a day of appreciation for progress, a day of gratitude for the good fortune I’ve enjoyed since setting out on this curious quest, a day of celebration for a momentous milestone (to me at least!), and a day of revitalization and readying for the next chapter.
What do you think?
