As if suspended between waking and dreaming, Carley and I wander into a barnscape reverie.

Lake smoke (steam fog) drifting ashore from Lake Champlain transforms the familiar into the phantasmagorical. Vapor veils reality, muddling edges and conjuring a liminal space between substance and suggestion. The carriage barn and icehouse emerge from this gossamer shroud as if materializing from half-remembered dreams.

The linden tree’s crowned canopy floats in misted ether, orbited by trees emerging and dissolving like thoughts forming and fading, their forms becoming suggestions rather than certainties.

This morning’s barnscape reverie blurs boundaries between what is and what might be. Memory, dreams, and reality converge in this theater of the imagination, an ever-shifting drama of visibility and concealment, substance and suggestion.
Barnscape Reverie
Lake smoke drifts ashore;
barn and icehouse emerge from
gossamer morning's morning.
Between dreaming and waking,
vapor veils blur certainties.
Thoughts form, fade, reform, reform...
What is, has been, and might be,
boundaries dissolve in mist,
substance meets suggestion.
