Once upon a time there were at least two additional buildings on Rosslyn's waterfront. Today only the boathouse remains, but a slightly larger building was located north of the beach, adjacent to the ruins of an historic stone pier. At least one other building, a small pump house, was located somewhere between the two and higher up on the waterfront bank.

Rosslyn’s bathhouse apparently remained until the 1950s or 1960s when, according to memories that have been shared with us by longterm Essex residents, the building was carefully transported across the Lake Champlain ice to Whallons Bay.
Whether or not this building’s post-Rosslyn history is accurate remains uncertain for me. Though the possibility of trafficking a building, no matter how small, across the frozen lake from the northern end of Essex to the southern end certainly excites the imagination!
