Today we return to Rosslyn’s waterfront for another installment on the slow-and-steady lakeside staircase rehab. Glen and Tony have begun to cut stair stringers, the structural underpinnings that underpin a stout repair to the most needy element of the previous build.

Templating off the old rotten stringers, Glen and Tony have identically cloned the existing conditions, fine tuning the rise (riser) and run (tread) dimensions and ensuring a precise 90° angle where the two meet.

A framing square, patience, and plenty of double- and triple-checking later, they’ve completed the new template and started the fabricate run. Stay tuned for progress updates!
