Yesterday’s perfect week wrap-up included several encouraging icehouse rehab accomplishments to cross off the punch list; a laughter soaked wake surf session with Susan, our nephew, Erik, and friends followed by a hot tub soak; late night snack-supper celebrating garden-to-table tomatoes; and a supermoon surprise so sensational my nephew and I returned to the waterfront for a better view. The moonrise, sunrise photos in this post are his enduring gift.
Not sure if last night’s moon is still considered a supermoon since we’re several days past full, but the orange orb seemed pretty super to us. And that shimmering reflection on the surface of Lake Champlain… absolute mesmerizing!
But wasn’t it supposed to be a blue moon? Maybe particulates in the atmosphere from Canadian wildfires?
And this morning’s sunrise. Also breathtaking. Another creative capture by Erik. Another orange-red extravagance. Again I’m suspicious that smoke from wildfires might be offering the extra spice. A silver lining.
Moonrise, sunrise. An aesthetic aperitif for the weekend. Thank you, Erik!
