A beautiful afternoon after a soggy morning after a rainy night after a tempestuous afternoon after a… The summer of 2023 will be remembered for the persistent rains. And the ambitious list of maintenance and repairs. And the icehouse rehabilitation now 2-3 months overdue. And yet the pair of come-and-relax rocking chairs on the new icehouse deck are ready. Inviting. Lonely.

Too, too much to do. Finishing icehouse railings. Finishing icehouse hardscape. Finishing unpacking my old office into my new icehouse office. And yet dozens of times each day I catch site of those rocking chairs beckoning, reminding me that soon it will be time to rock.

but steady, not rock-rockin
‘til chores are complete.
I spent much of yesterday and today soldiering forward with the loft railing balusters so that I can resume work on the stonewalls with Tony tomorrow. A work weekend. Summer catapulting toward autumn and no time to spare. For rocking. Until my punch list is shorter. Soon.
